MASTERTON ROAD BOARD.

3 MONTHLY MEETING. The regular monthly meeting of . the Masterton Road Board was held , on Saturday, Present —Messrs . Cameron (chairman), Harris, and McKenzio. It was resolved that the Board has no funds at its disposal to provide Mr McGrath with a road to his , land. 1 It was resolved to expend Messrs j Field and A. Petersen's thirds , according to their li'commondations. , With reference to Mr Donovan's . complaint re obstruction on tho road he uses through the Native lleserve, . No. 60, it was decided to ask the , Assistant Surveyor General whothor , tho road is a legal one. It was also decided to inform Mr , Donovan that no funds are available for assisting to widen this road, : and that it would be desiiablo to , namo the road "Factory Road," I instead of " Donovan's ltoad," as . hitherto known. After hoaring Mr Larson on the j matter, it was decided to request the . Engineer to furnish an estimate of i the cost of removing the slips on the , Dorset's and Kaka-amu Roads, with a view to raising a loau for carrying [ out the work, ami when the estimate , is obtained, to notify Mr Larsen, also stating the amount available on this road, out of ordinary revenue. Further consideration of tho question of connecting Matahiwi and Burnett's Roads, was postponed until the roturn of Mr Holmes. The Engineer was instructed to ) eipend the sum available (£2 8s 6d) • to the best advantage, in repairing ; tho drain on the road leading to Mr , J.Robieson's property, The location of the road through ; the property of Mr W. Cook (late i Elkins') was left in the hands of Mr I Harris. With reference to the Gladstone and Boundary Roads, it was rosolved : to advise the Borough Council that ' the sum of £2 2s is all that remains , available for expenditure on the I Lower Manaia (Gladstone) Road; i and that during the last three years ■ the Board has expended £22 8s 6d • on the road, and is given to underi stand that the Borough expenditure i during that period has not approached i this sum. Tho Board will bo prei pared to contribute the £2 2s availi able, to any amount which tho Borough may vote towards the work t in question, : The Finance Committee's report I recommending accounts amounting i to £76 2s 3d for payment, was , adopted. ; TlicEngineer'sreport was read and I adopted subject to the following resolution " That the proposed exI pondituro of £64 on the OpakiDis- , trict Road, be held over until the I gravel pit on Mr Campbell's property 1 is available for use.
