In fact had there boon more couples , present, they would have been too packed for dancing to be pleasant. ] As it was, ono and all seemed to 1 enjoy theinsolves, and great praiso is 2 due to tho untiring Secretary, Dr. 0 Dawsou, who did all in bis power to mako tho affair a success. The B music was supplied by the Taitoru .| Band, which was indeed a treat to listen to. 0 It is a great pity that somo of our e youthful talent do not know of any- ( thing better to do, than to play p tticks with the tea and cotfee; first " of all thoy put "cayenne" in the c water, but not being satisfied with that, thoy also flavoured it with j kerosene. . ( I must uot forget to say that visitors were present from all tho ' surrounding districts, including j Mnstcrton, Tauoru, Blairlogie, and other places too nnmerons tomentiou, ' On tho whole, I hoar it said that it ' a was tho best Ball held here for , many a long day.
