From Our Own Correspondent. The Dramatic Chib gave anothe of their brilliant entertainments las Friday night, to a large and appreci ativo audience. Judging by tli encores, one would imagine it wa the best "shoiy" that ever was heJi in Te M. The first half of t'.i programmo consisted of songs an dances, doors opened sharp at 7.3 1 to admit the eager " nippers" wh had saved all their pennies dntinj the week, so as to procure a ticket By eight o'clock, the " Theatre" wa packed. The entertainment oponei with the Bawl playing tho "Snow (\ri{t Galop." Songs were then given by Mcssr Hancock, A. Rose, W, Owen, th Misses A. Rose, Johnston, and li Wickstead, each contributor beinj heartily encored. Master Fran] McKenzie gave a violin solo witl marked effect, and Mr ft Pavey ai Irish jig. Tho second halt of the programnn consisted of a comedietta, entitlec '■' Done Brown on both sides." '. have not got time to give you t sketch of it; all I can say is that ii was really a credit to all who tool it in. Mr Jones as"JlrWhiffles' and Miss Maxwell as ,( Mrs Whiffles,' were really funny, Mr It. Owen as " l\v- Bro'wnjohn " the " toff," was o success, as was also Miss Wickstead :as " Lydia Whiffles," daughter of the above mentioned couple, and Mr W. Owen taking the part of the country cousin "Phibbs. "Look sharp, Miryour stumps." Daucingfollowed and was kept up till two o'clock. Refreshments being provided bv the Club. I must not forget to mention that the proceeds of tho entertainment mm ti?. be handed to tho Ball Committee, to help them to clear off the little cloud that hangs on the building. Things wero beginning to look rather seriou.s with so much dry weather, but all our foars aro dispelled, for it is now raining. "cats and dogs." It is to, be hoped it will not last too. long, or it -\yjll bo ruinous to some of our farmers. Another big affair, in the shape of an inyitatiou ball is to be' held ii the Hall, next; Friday, the. 23rd iiist. T> Taueru Band will sujply the nnisic as, the Te Nui Baud have" disbauded,"
