QUEEN'S EVIDENCE.

The piece chosen for production this evening, by the Francos Ross Company, is tho popular and sonaational drama entitlod, "Queen's Evidence." This drama is one of the most popular of the Company's repertoire, and wherever it has been produced, in has been welcomed by crowded houses. It is one of those well-written dramas in whiehcomedy and pathos are so blended, that the interest of the audience is never allowed to flag from the time tho curtain rises till the end of the pieco. As Kate Medlnnd, the wronged and suffering wifo, who is blindod while trying to prevent her husband from doing murder, Miss Ross has a part for which she is eminently suited, and a better conception of tlio character than she has, we have never seen. The villain of the piece, Matthew Thornton, is in the capablo hands of Mr Hans Phillips, and to say that his acting of tho character is excellent, would be giving small praise indeed. Tho comedy part of the pieco is supplied by Mr Ceo. Melville as Isaacs tho Jew and a tool ofj Thornton's, who turns Queen's evidence to save his own neck, The pieco will bo mounted with the caro and thoroughness which characterises all this Company's performances, and we can safely predict a bumper house for this their last night of the leason.
