DISASTEROUS FIRE
AT EKETAHUNA,
GKEAT LOSS OF PBOPERTY.

Tbo most extensivo firo that has ever occurred in tbe Forty-Mile Bash occurred last night, at Eketaliuna. Shortly before two o'clock smoke was seen issuing from the roar of Hunter's billiard saloon, and on the door being opened, flames burst forth with such fierceness ns to make all efforts to extinguish tho fire futile. The firo spread rapidly to Dixon's branch cordial factory, Steer's hoot shop, and Low's Bailway Hotel on the north side, and fit Kelso's chemist shop, Mclnesi' bakery and Brenmuhlls boarding house on tbe south, The gale which was blowing at the time fanned tho firo furiously, and the whole of the buildings biasing together presented a splendid sight. Nothing was saved except a little beddingfromthebotel. Allareheavy losers. No water supply of any kind, Brenmuhl was absent from home. Large crowds rapidly assorabled, but wore powerless to holp. All buildings were destroyed completely in an hour. Insurance not yet known,
