CORRESPONDENCE.
THE N.Z.F.D. UNION [;n tih: tin toi!.]
Sin,—My attention has just been called to an article which appeared in your columns of May 13th, and 1 now beg to correct the error you have fallen into in supposing that the Dairy Union has had any crisis in its affairs, or that the price advanced for milk was in any way affected by such supposed crisis, You surely cannot bo so ignorant of the causes which have been the reason of the low price advanced for milk this season as yon pretend to be by your article, nor has the price advanced by the Dairy Union during tho last season been below that of other factories working ou similar lines; nor are you correct in stating we are paying 10 per cent for our money. Tho rate is 8 per cent. Such misrepresentations bring to one's mind tho old adage: " Save me from my friends"; it is evidently intended to damage the Union under the garb of sympathy—l am, etc.,
P. Barnard Brown, Chairman, Now Zealand Dairy Union, Ltd. Wellington, A.igust 30th, 1895.
[The article wo published was a fair one, hut it is absurd to discuss statements made by us four months ago. Mr Brown is hardly up-to-date.-Ed. W.D.T.]
