ORIENTAL FOOTBALL CLUB.
Tho annual social in connection with this popular junior club, took place at tho Temperance Hall, Masterton, last evening, and was—from every point of view—a successful and pleasant gathering. The joint secretaries (Messrs A, Owen and H. Bagge), assisted by a strong committee of lady friends, worked hard and deserve much credit for the time aud trouble takon in getting up the affair. A very liberal supper was provided by the ladies, who also assisted in tho work of decorating the Hall. Dul'ing tho eyening songs wore contributed by Miss 0. Jago, and Messrs Ralph, Simms and Langton. Music was supplied by Mr Kearsley, and Messrs 6. Hansen and F. Redmond capably carried out the duties of M.C.'s. We must not' omit to mention that during the evening MrsJ. Nicol kindly presented tho Club trophies, Mr J. Wickens junjor, receiving a gold rrjedal as the best forward, and Mr Arthur Bennett, a handsome marble clock, as beijt back of the season.
