The lads Brown and Conroy have, been convicted of breaking and entering Hannah's boot store and remanded for the probation officer's report, on the application of their counsel, The Chief Justice, howover, said bethought the Legislature never intended probation to apply to people who went into the witness box and told a parcel of lies. It was meant only for those who showed contrition and recognised their position.
