TARATAHI DAIRY COMPANY.
The annual report of the directors of the Tanttahi Dairy Company, to be presented to the annual general meeting of shareholders, to be held at Mr F. H. Wood's auction rooms, Carterton, on Monday, 26th August, 1895, at 7 o'clock p.m., reads as follows:
" Gi-:xTr.RUKN,—In presenting this our seventh annual balance-sheet, wo arc glad to be able to report a satisfactory year's transactions. The past season was not a favourable one for milk and there was a falling off in the output from individual farmers, but an oxtra number of suppliers more than mado up for this deficiency, We received 257,456 gallons of milk ns against 192,987 gallons in the preceding season. This was converted into 273,6191bs of cheese, being 31 tons in excess of lust year's output. Pigs show a profit of £ls 9s 9d, being a considerable on the previous season. "
Sixteen new shareholders havo been added since last annual meeting, making the number of shares taken up 140, and as all calls havo beou made and met we have been ablo to make the final payment of #2OO to clear the mortgage from the pro? perty. The title deeds are now lodged attho Bank of New Zealand, Carterton, for safety only, Balances at |d gallon will be paid on the night of meeting, anda sum of £94 16s will be placed to tho credit of iiiillwmppliersjira rata, This will make the avorago per gallon for the year 3jjd as near as possible, Tho Manager's residence has boon removed foamorc advantageous silo to the south of the factory, and the roof of the factory has bcon altered so as to do away with tho gutter in tho roof. Thcso improvements are paid for undortho head of" repairs" m prolit and loss account and will j not recur.
The Directors desire to record their continued appreciation of tbo services of the Factory Managor, Mr iS. Foss, also of the Secretary, Mr .L—4 | Brown. l( jpW You will be called upon to ejoot two Directors in the room of Messrs T. Itoberts and K, Butler, who retire by rotation in accordance with tho rules,but are eligible and offer them ; selves for re-election. You will also' be called upon to elect an Auditor, Jons Smith, Chairman, Carterton, August 3rd, 1895,
