The seventh of the series of sixpenny concerts held this winter in connection with the Master/ton Wesleyan Church, was bald last evening, but the management was again unfortunate in having a miserably raw cold night, which considerably affected the attendance. The programme was, however, an excellent one, some of the items being exceptionally brilliant. The Master-ton Orchestra contributed an overture and selection in their usual first-class style. Mr Lilly's song, " Ora, Pro Nobis," was well sang', he was accompanied by Messrs Kearsley (piano), Candy (violin), and Gray (cornet), the effect being very pleasiug. Miss Kibblewbite—a young lady from Eketahuna sang Remember me no more," very : sweetly, and received an encore. Mr Simms was in good voice, and sang■ " Kiss me," for which he received an encore, singing a comic song, which was well received. Songs were also given by Mr Ralph, " Consider the Lilies;" Miss Pi-aun, " Kitty of Coleraine" (a pretty song very Weil sung) ; and Mr Lilly, " In Old Madrid." MrLingtqnalsosang ■ 'The Young Brigade,"for which lie received an encore, and Miss Dennan, " The Qld Rustic Bridge." Miss JJennan was suffering from a cold, bat she was compelled to respond to an encore. During the evening recitations were given by Masters C. Bills and K. Carpenter, and piano solos by Misses Reynolds and Hogg. The concertina and banjo selection by Messi-ii J. Arthuvaud A. Russell, was well given, the audience demanding a, double encore, and were only satisfied when it was [promised that another selection would be given at the next concert. The chair was ably occupied by Mr F. W. Temple, who moved a hearty -vote of thanks to all who had assisted. This was carried by acclamation, and a very pleasing evening was brought to a close by Mr Kearsley playing the National Anthem. , ' '
