From Our Own Correspondent. The usual monthly meeting of the School. Committee was held on Wednesday evening. The Treasurer reported a credit balance of £22 Os 9d. Accounts amountng to £6lB 4d were passed for payment. The headmaster reported that nearly half the school was absent through sickness, that Miss E, Pel--4 lingham who had been probationary pupil teacher had been appointed to Kaiwaiwai, also that the roll number of the night school was 26. At a meeting of Directors of the fcatherston Dairy Co. It was resolved that Mr Murray Jackson be Chairman of Directors, also that tenders be invited for the erection of a, building for the equipment of a factory, and for the position of manfcger, tenders to close on Saturday, the 17th. The result of the Committee's visit to DalelioM, was reported, and it was decided to have the factory built somewhat on the same lines. The position of Secretary was offered to Mr Bock, but the terms olterml, wero left for his consideration, until the 17th. The Oddfellow's Annual Ball, took place last evening, and went off very well. There were about fiftyfive couples on the floor, which was in splendid order. Dancing was kept up till tlio small hours of the morning."'
