WHOLESALE INCENDIARISM.
Melbourne, August 6. The Warnambool incendiarists havo confessed to starting sixteen fires, one of which caused a loss of £BOO.
In several cases where fire did not burn properly tlio men returned to tlio premises and lighted it, in order to prevent the possibility of the Haines being extinguised. In one case they locked tlio doors of a I'ire Brigade Station and throw the keys away. They used to hide until a crowd gathered, and then mixed among it, Campbell, one of tlioso arrested, was enrolled as a member of a Vigilance Committee, formed to capture the incendiarists. He said they had no object in burning down buildings, but had been drinking, and were embued with a spirit of devilment.
