FEATHERSTON ROAD BOARD.

From Our Own Correspondent Monday. The usual monthly meeting of the Road Board was hold on Saturday, the following wardens being present —Messrs A. Matthews (Chairman), W. Bidwill, W. J. Nix, Jae. Donald, Jas. McLeod and T. F. Evans. Apologies for non-attendance were received from Messrs Russell and E.jR, Harris. The Treasurer reported the amount of overdraft at LB9O 16s 7d and that rates amounting to L 1434 12s had been received during the past month. Accounts amounting to L 390 5s lid were passed for payment, It was resolved to pay Mr Bock Ll2los per month as clerk and collector instead of paying so much commission on rates collected. The following were the successful tenderers for contracts 22 and 23 Kuakokopatuna, E. Kelly and D. Alexander at L2 7s 6d and LI 10s pelchain respectively. J. A, Nicholson's tender of 14s per chair for about 38 chains of fencing at the Lower Tauherenikau Bridge was accepted. As regards Kelly's and Alexander's tenders, they were accepted conditionally on the L 250 having been passed by the Land Board, for the work on tho Rua Kokopatuna track.
