Mr Wragge, the Queensland meteorologist, in a letter to tho press in reference to the proposed Antarctic expedition, states that the data obtained would be of tho highest importance as bearing on meteorological problems affecting Australia, and that if the seasonal forecasting is to be satisfactorily solved for Australia, it can only be by means of a complete discussion on the Antarctic factors in their bearing on Australian seasons, Immense light, he says, would bo thrown on tho conditions attaching to the formation and development of disturbances producing some of the heaviest weather and curious seasonal characteristics on the Australiancon tinent. Mr Wragge hopes that the Colonies Trill most cordially assist tho proposal.
