| Messrs Simms and Mowlem held | their usual fortnightly stock gale in the yards, Queen-street, Masterton, yesterday. Owing to the severity of the weather, many of the lines entered did not put in an appearance, the stock yarded was of good quality, and excited tlio keenest competition experienced for some time, a noticeable rise in tlio prices of sheep of all classes was maintained throughout, and supplies did not nearly meet the demands of those present. The prices realised were as follows Fat-wethers topped theseason at 10s lid; fat and forward ewes mixed, 7s sd; lambs, including a few 2-tooth wethers brought 6s 9d; store ewes 6s 10dj springing heifers U 10s; aline of 20 young cows in calf brought £4l3s 6d.
