ANNUAL RETURN Mil PATIENTS.
We arc indebted to Mr W, Sellar, Secretary to the Masterton Hospital Trustees, for the following return re patients for the year ended 31st March last : Number of patients inthoHospital at beginning of April, 1894, 5; admitted during the year ended 31st March, .1895,72; total treated, 77, including G(j males and 11 females. Cases cured or relieved, G9; died, 1; under treatment at end of year, 7, The cases of accident numbered 25 j and the average number of days' stay of each patient was 32|, the average cost of maintenance per day per patient being 3s s|d. The nationalities of patients were: —Now Zealand, 29; England, 28; Ireland, 8; Scotland, G; Finland, 2; Victoria, 1; New South Wales, 1; Denmark, 1; Tasmania, 1. Total, 77. Tho localities from which patients were admitted are given as follows: —Masterton, 17; Te Nui, 9; Eketahuna, 9; Branccpeth, 6; Mauriceyille, 5; Pahiatua, 3; Carteiton, 3; Opaki, 3; Mangaono, 3; Taueru, 2; Hawke's Bay, 2; Tupurupuru, 2; Alfredton, 2; Parkville, 1; Langdale, 1; Glenburn, 1; Pongaroa, 1; Flat Point, 1 ; Mangatainoka, 1; Akitio, 1; Lowor Valley) 1; Hastwell, 1; Greytown, 1 ; Cashpoint, 1 j total, 77,
