MASTERTN ROAD BOARD.
SPECIAL MEETING.
A special meeting of tho Masterton Road Board was held on Saturday. Present-Messrs D. J, Cameron (chairman), D, McKenzic, and H. Holmes, Tho Board decided to strike the rates previously announced for the ensuing year. Tho action of tho Clerk in respect of tho new proposal rc Bothamley's loan was approved. Leave of absence was granted to Mr J. Stuckey. It was resolved to submit the offer of Messrs Welch and Holmes to the Board's solicitor as to whether the Board can accept tho conditions imposed, regarding the connection 4.t)f the Matahiivi and Burnett's » Roads, A petition'was presented rathe expenditure of tho balance of the loan for Burnett's Road, and it was resolved to give effect tothe petition. ■> Mr T. Wilton applied for compensation for injury to his express through a defective culvert, the amount asked for being £llos. It was resolved to ask Mr Wilton to wait on the Board at tho ordinary meeting on 27th July next, It was resolved that Messrs Murray, Roberto' letter with memo, of transfer of tho Te Qre Ore estate, Jje submitted to the Board'u solicitor.
Tho Mauricovillo Road Board's grant for Ml, Bruce Road was dealt with, and consideration postponed till the ordinary meeting, to allow Mr Harris to bo present. Consideration of Mr Dakiu's application was also postponed till the ordinary meeting. Mr Holmes reported that Mr Fnlconorhad erected his fence ou the road, but there did not seom to ho any other way of getting over the difficulty.
