Tho improvements mado on the n course at Clarevillc, which has 1 been leased from Air T. It ay, on ~ y most satisfactory terms, comprise a „ new Grandstand, Saddling Paddock, Stewards' Stand, Secretary's Office, a Weighing Koom,PressOilice,Jcckey's „ Room, the laying out anil making of it f now course, fencing it all round, m«.k- t ingaploughgaUop,etc,whichtogether i lave made the Club's property a well c appointed racecourse, capable of furtherimproTementas funds permit, , but utill convenient and safe in all £ Respects. The thanks of the Club are Mpie to those kind friends who bare ( / so largely contributed to tho pr esent satisfactory stato of affairs. Thoir < assistance has been of the utmost importance and always freoly given. ( The Hon Secretary is now busy , organising a " bee " to make still further improvements. Tho meeting held on 9th November J 1894, was admittedly agreat Buccess, There were good fields foreachevent, , asd the largest attendance ever seen on a course in Wairarapa, resulting ' lin a profit of £20714s sd, after all ) were paid. This ( rrtnount has since been paid off. t The list of nominations reseived testifies to tho success of the Wair- , arapa Hack Guineas for both 1895 : and 1896. The first event will be : run in November next and will add j considerably to the interest generally taten in the meeting. In addition to the usual business, the meeting will be required to deal with the following notice of motion by Mr C.J. Kemble':-"Tkt the rule limiting the number of Stewards to nine be rescinded."
