On Thursday ' evening at the ball, one of the small rooms at the back of tho stago was fitted up for a card room and a couple of brand new usopened packs of cards were left on tho table. "After tho ball was over" it was discovered that one pack was missing, and that the cover of tho other pack bad been torn off. _ On Saturday and Sunday mornings, there wero evidences of'the two hardest frosts which we have i bad so far this winter.
