COMMERCIAL.
Mr P. H. Wood reports as follows of tho stock sale held by him at his Tarat-ahi yards yesterday:-About three times tho quantity of sheep wero yarded that had been advertised, lint very few cattle camo forward. Tho attendance of buyers was goud, and bidding spirited throughout, every hoof yarded being disposed of at prices showing a decided improvement on previous sales for stock of similar class. With only one exception, all stock was sold under the hammer, and that pen was sold privately afterwards. The following is uquotation of prices realised, viz: Sheep: Lambs, 3s 5s to 7s; '2-touth wethers, lis lOd; do ewes, 5s to 7s; fat ewes, 7s to 8s 9d; fat ewes and wethers mixed, 7s fid to 9s 4d; ewes in lamb, 4s to4s 10(1; culled ewes, 2s 3s to 3s Od.
Cattle: Calves (poor), 19s; dairy cows, £3 to £5 10s; empty cows, forward, £4 to £4 7s; store cows, £2 to £3 10s.
Pigs; iis to 8s for smail porkers, Horses: £Gfo£lo.
