THEATRE ROYAL.

"SNOWBALL." The Kennedy-Lncus Company last night produced Sydney Grundy's charming comedy " Snowball," at the Mastcrton Theatre Royal, the Company's efforts being even more enthusiastically received, than on the previous night. Tho stage appointments wero exceptionally rgood, and tho arrangements reflect much credit on the stage manager. | The piece opens at the rcsidonco of | Mr Felix Featherstone (Mr Albert Lucas) who, determined to " assert his marital authority," decides to play "a little joke" upon bis wife, and informs hit Uncle John (Mr C. B. Hill) of this fact. Mrs Featherstone (Miss Lilla Wilde) discovers tho plot, and assisted by a lady and gentleman friend, lead the bewildered husband a very lively dance, and make him wish most heartily he had not started the" snowball rolling," Mr Lucas, as "Felix Featherstone" is to be hoartily congratulated. He showed last uight that he is quito capable of appearing to advantago in comedy as well as drama, and his acting throughout was exceedingly good. Mr C. 11. Hill, as "Undo John, was amost decided success, mul ho sustained bis character very ably throughout the piece. Mr Frank Norton as " Hairy Prendergast" played easily and naturally, the part being lighter than he is usually allotted. Miss Lilla Wilde as "Mrs l''catherston" gaveadelightful pourtrayal of a wifo full of resources, Her acting was bright, clever, and well conceived. Miss Lilly Hill, as" Penelope" was certainly one of the most important • characters in the. piece, and . the part could not havo been i in better hands, for her , acting throughout was natural j and clever, Tho minor characters i were all well placed, aud the piece [ went smoothly all through. icia Boy," in which Mr J, J. Kennedy appeared as "The Chicken." Judging by the merriment caused tho audience was well satisfied with tho double bill presented, To-night " The Bells," one of the finest and most powerful of the Company's pieces will be staged, and a largo attendance is assured..
