SIR GEORGE DIMS AT TAMWORTH. Received July 9,10.30 a.m. jSYDXET, July 9. Sir George Dibhs opened the Opposition campaign at Tamworth last night. In the course of his address ho said he thought they were to have had a clear issue on the fiscal question, but unfortunately the policy of tho Government had beeu cunningly devised, and skilfully worked out and it clouded tho simple issue with the Council reform. He admitted tlmt reform in that Chamber was necessary, but there was no necessity for the violent spasmodic reform ioi'eshadowed by tho Premier. Sir George denied his coalition with Sir 11. Pai'kes. The hitter had merely intimated he would move a resolution, leaving the tariff alone until federation was accomplished, and tho protectionists saw this wits the best policy to adopt and therefore supported it.
