CULTIVATOR TRIAL.

Of the many firms employed in the manufacture of farm implements J in New Zealand, that of Messrs P. and D. Duncan, of Christchurch, has always stood in the front rank for the quality and usefulness of its manufactures. The firm may not at all times have been the first to mako or introduce novelties, but they can, with every confidence, claim that they have remodelled and improved their instruments to the highest degree. This is undoubtedly v the case with their latest effort, tli'o Spring Tooth Cultivator and couch eradicate, one of which was publicly tried yesterday, at the farm of Mr It. 1), Dagg, Upper Plain, in tho presence of a number of practical farmers. This implement has had an unprecedented sale during the last six months, in the South Island, nearly 100 cultivators having been sold in Canterbury alone. Tho implement consists of a light I frame of mild steel mounted on two I steerage and two travelling wheels, The framo is designed for the connection of lino levers, and adniAng of any lateral adjustment of tijjpor the using of inoro or less levers. Pressure is applied to these tines by means of a pressure bar opcratod by means of worm screw and hand wheel, handy to tho driver's seat, the compression strain passing to each individual lino through & coil spring, which in conjunction with the independent attachment to the framo of each tine lever, admits of the flexible vibratory motion lo each tine so effective in working up conch land.
