A conference of Farmers Co-opera- J tive Associations lms resolved to request the Shipping Companies to permit a certain number of their i cargo steamers with foreign mutton nml other produce, to call at other ports than London ; say Liverpool, Cardiff and Manchester, or Glasgow, with a view to testing the live stock ; export. The Companies are to be asked on what terms, under a guarantee, thoy are prepared to carry ; 1,000 sheep in tive steamers, the < steamers to go direct.
