THE BALTIC CANAL.
Berlin, Juno 21. At Kiel, 24 tcssols, crowded with distinguished personages, passed through tho Canal in eight houn, without any mishap, except that an immense German-American liner and the yacbt Osborne grounded for a short time. The canal was lined by dense crowds who cheered the fillips of all nations, especially the British vessels, Tho Kaiser aroused remarkable enthusiasm by the splendid stately pageant,
The bauds played the " Marsellaise" during the passage of tho French warships. All the warships nssembled at Holtcnau in the Baltic and saluted the Emperor's vessel, HohonzollcjJL On arrival, the Emperor slip a'.ono on the roof of tho chart-house, wearing an admiral's uniform, with his breast covered witli various orders.
Ho bowed and saluted tho people in response to enthusiastic cheering. The Empress watched tho greater portion of the ceremony from tho hotel window, The Emperor visited all the warships, personally steoring his gig. Tho Kaiser told M. Horbotte, the French Ambassador, that the present was not tho last ceremony he hoped they would togothor perform with a view to promote peace.
