Mr. HOGG, M.H.R., at EKETAHUNA.
Over two hundred settlers were present in Audorson's Hall; on Saturday evening, to listen to Mr A. W. Hogg, M.H.R, Tho Chair was taken by Mr Aloxander Anderson, J.P., who briefly introduced the Representative of the District. The speech of Mr Hogg, which was well received, was on much the same lines as the one delivered at Pahiatua, In reply to questions, Mr Hogg said he did not consider that the presont Licensing laws would stop drunkenness or gambling. Not only ', liquor, but food generally should be inspected. Ho would asiflmin . whether the railway works were unduly delayed. He considered tenants, as well as landlords, shonld be votors at local elections. He would do what bo could to got a Post and Telegraph Olce estab- ' lished in tho centre of Eketahuna,
Mr Tarr proposed a yote of thanks and confidence, which was soconded by Mr Morris, and carried unanimously,
