The Hon. J. G, Ward, speaking bofore the London Chamber of Commerce, in an address delivered to them, says (according to the British Australasian) in regard to press criticisms of Now Zealand:-"I hardly think that any Colony has, for many years past, been subjected to such keen criticisms, as Now Zealand has had to bear during the past three or four years." Mr Ward goes on to say that these criticisms, based on outsido information, have not in any wayaffected thosoundcommercial basis of this Colony, despite all that has been said to the contrary.
