Brunheiitox, Wednesdajft Mi Guinness, M.H.B. for Groy, m addressingliifj constituents hereon Tuesday night, dealt with the Midland Kuihvay, and stated that the Ministers had full power under the Act to take the line, and to fmisli building it, Whether they were in the right was another matter, which would be settled by the Arbitration and Supreme Courts, As the Government had taken the line, he < would help the Government by his yoto to get the £1,250,000 required to finish it. They would have to borrow, and at the same timo would have to borrow for the Otago Central and North Island lines. They could not hope to get a loan fur the Midland Railway by itself. The i speaker asserted that the electors had only to understand the matter, when they would consent to borrow more extensively for reproductive works than they now done. He would vote for borrowing, even should tho Ministry go to the country on tho question, Mr Guinness was accorded a vote of thanks £p conlidonce,
