Bcceiml, June 13, 11 a.m. Sydxev, June 13. The Council has rejected the motion on behalf of the Government to postpone the Land and Income Tax Assessment. Bill for a week, and lias decided, by a large majority, to take the second reading to-daj. Members complained that it was being purposely kept back. It is believed the Council intend to hang the Hill up or deal summarily with it. Should this be the case, early prorogation is certain.
