Ezra Abrahams, a Jewish lolly vendor, and a married man with a family, became infatuated with Miss Goodacre. ' ■-•'•■ _ He pestered her with his attentions, but she refused all advances. The two met in the street this afternoon, and she endeavoured to avoid Abrahams, who drew a revolver and fired three shots at her, the bullets lodging in her arms audback. t Tho ruffian then fired two shots into his own abdomen. Abrahams is in a critical condition, 'but the girl, though seriously * wounded, is likely to recover.
