FEATHERSTON NEWS.

From Our Own Correspondent, Friday. The Hunt filub held a meet at Tauherenikau, yesterday afternoon, when over twenty followed the hounds. There were two runs, tho throw-off being from behind the Hotel, and through Messrs Nix's, Donald's, Hodder's, and Henderson's properties. There were only three spills in the ordinary way, butwhen taking the last fence, the veteran racer and hurdler "Jumbo," touched i wire, and came down on his head, breaking his neck, his rider escaping unhurt. After the Hunt, those who bad followed, were invited in to partake of refreshments, by Mr Jas. Buckeridge on Baird, and in tho second, by the same, with Mr Mckenzie on Wangaimoana. On Monday next, the business of lie S.M. Court will bo conducted in .he new Court-house.
