Hogg, M.H.R., in company with Mr Mackay, of the Labour Departnioiit,interviewod the Premier to-day, in reference to tho best mode of dealing with the unemployed. The Government will not entortain the idea of establishing relief works. In round numbers there are three thousand on the Co-operative Works at present, aud the expenditure cannot be increased. There are, altogether, some 600 unemployed. Steps are to be taken to find work for these men, bntin order to do so it will probably be necessary, as soon as existing contracts are terminated, to put tho co-operative workers on reduced time; say four or five days a week,
