Our miscellaneous auction sales have been exceptionally well attonded and high prices realised. Our horse sale on Saturday wns well patronised and wc had numerous enquiries for useful hacks. Poultry was in fair demand, hut our entries wore poor. In land, wc have more applicants for leaseholds, with riglit-oi'-purcliaso, than we can supply, several on the list being from the South Island, who are prepared to invest a fair amount of capital. We quote prices as under: - Butter, Cd per lb; eggs. Is Oil per doz. Poultry: Fowls, Is Cd to 2s per pair; turkeys, 4s Od to 5s (id; geese, 4s 9d; ducks, i!s 3d, Produce; Wheat, 3s to 3s 3d; oats. Is 7d to l.s lid; oaten shoaf, Is JOs to '2s '2s; straw, Is Id per bag; potatoes, 5"2s (ill to £3 per ton; | pig potatoes, 3s 3d per sack, these [are all locally grown and free from |flood water; bacon, dairy fed, Gd per lb.
