ORDINARY MEETING. ~ A meeting of the Board was held on Thursday last, Mr Handyside in y tlio Chair. All the members were present. ■ The minutes of the previous meetAj" were read and conlinned. fr I'lie Treasurer reported balance in bank £34712s lid. . . , Letters wcie read from District Land and Survey Department 1 applying for a return of thirds and 0 fourths received since Ist April, 1894, and how expended. f From same, approving of proposal " for expending thirds and fourths ? on Aohanga V. lload. From same, advising payment of : second instalment of grant in aid. From same, re Inspector visiting ? Aoliauga V. Road. From M. Korins, re contract No. 3, Aohanga Road, ami slopping payment of cheque for deposit, as it c included two deposits. From I. Anderson, offering a list J of tools for sale for £4, From County Clerk, applying for returns of receipts and expenditure, 1 and assets and liabilities. From same, n adjustment of ' Jainndancs. J From same, stating that valuation list was forwarded. , From County Engineer, re a fresh survey of Aohouga V. Hoad in part 1 same, re the locality of the road proposed to be made. From same, re the men sent to complete No, 2 contract and the costs. From A. Herbert, re completing No 2. contract. The Clerk was directed to have ' agreementcompleted with Mr Kerins ' for No 3 contract. The Board agreed to the alteration in the District boundary, as suggested in the County Clerk's letter of 16th February, and to baye a re-survey made of about 2 miles of Aohanga road, under the County Engineer. [ The returns asked for by tl\C| County Clerk and the Land Depart-! went, were ordered to be supplied,! aud Mr Herbert to be furnished with statement of his account. Mr to receive notice to /jHress for payment of bis account, or Mvithdraw his attachment in 14 days, in order to bring about a settlement. An offer was received from Mr CaiT, to erect a culvert aud Idling, which the Board declined to accept, and decided to call for tenders by posting notices. The report of the Clerk of Works was read aud considered. Accounts, amounting to £37 18s, I were passed for payment, and the * payments made on the 2nd inst., wcro duly confirmed. Tbo next meeting was fixed for 13th June.
