Tlio Bishop addressed those present with much fervour, taking his text from the 4th chapter of St, Matthew. Heurgecl upon those who had received the rites of confirmation the necessity of leading a truly Christian life, and chaiged them not to lose heart in dealing with the besetting sins oftheworld.Thc temptation of the world was a real power to fight against. Christ was often tempted, but at all times cast sin at once aside, and this was the lesson he desired to teach. When temptation hovered round it was not safe to think whether there was any harm in it or not. Any sin should be at once mastered. His Lordship forcibly urged upon his hearers the value of Holy Communion, ami hoped fncerely that all who were con•incd that day would strictly u.Jhei'o to their sacred promises and be a power of good in the world. His task in each parish would be far more pleasant and inspiring when Church people fully realised the great work he had in hand. In the evening the Rev, A, C. Yorke preached, the Church again being filled to its utmost capacity. The choir lent admirable assistance at the three services, and sang most creditably throughout.
