Syduey, May 11, At an Opposition caucus, Mr Tyne strenuously opposed acoalition, and is reported to have stated that if the Opposition followed Sir H. Parte, ho would vote foi Mr Iteid. Sir G. Dibbs is reported to have said, that in order to protect tho industries which had grown up under (he Protectionist policy, ho was willing to make a great sacrifice, and walking out from the head of tho party, hand oyer the power to the only man who could win in the present Parliament. That man was Sir H, Parte, whom it was well known ho personally disliked, but if Sir Henry could only frame a resolution against Mr Roid's Government, and save tlio coutoy from ruin and chaos, and he wlijd for the time being follow him. He thought if be could suffer this, members of his party might well do the same. The canons carried a motion in favour of the proposal for a coalition of the parties, there being three dissontients, Messrs Tyne, Willis, and Price.
