FEATHERSTON TOWN BOARD.
From Our Own Correspondent, Wednesday, The usual monthly meeting of the Town Board was held on Monday evening. Present: Messrs Jamos Donald (chairman), J. G. Cox, 0. Oundy, A. McKenzie, \Y. Benton and W. Hoddor, junr. The minutes of the provious ordinary and special meetings were read and confirmed. The Treasurer reported the overdraft at £B7 Is Bd. Accounts amounting to £2l lis 3d were passed for payment. The balance sheet, which was read, shewed the gross receipts on the ordinary account, up to 31st March, £2BB 15s, and the expenditure £39G 4s lOd, which included £ls 13s 4d overdraft on 31st March, 1894, £lO2 2s od advanced to tha Town Hull building and furnishing account, and £32 5s 5d tc the office building and furnishing account. The gross receipts, includiug the advance from the ordinary account, on the Town Hall building account, was £S33 14s sd, and the expenditure £S33 14s sd, which includes the £3710s recently paid for tho piano.
It was resolved to lease the Road Board tho uso of the room and office for a term of ten years at a rental of £lO per annum and to grant them permission to erect a strong room and horse-rails outside the Board offices. It was resolved that in fnturo tho price to bo paid for tho hire of a horse and cart slionld be 10s per diem, aud that the rate of wage should bo Gs6d per diem.
