MASTERTON TOWN LANDS TRUST.
MONTHLY MEETING. The regnlar monthly meeting of the Masterton Town Lands Trustees wasweld last evening. PresentMessrs B. Feist (in the chair), C. E. Daniell, A. Vile, and A. W. Renall. Mr W. Lowes was unavoidably absent owing to illness, MINUTES. The minntes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The Clerk said Mr Dan Lea had agreed to take the Drill Hall at 10s per week. TREASURER'S REI'ORT. The Treasurer reported a credit balance at date of £2215s ad. THE WAIrOUA BREWERY LEASE. Mr A. E. Bunny wrote enclosing particulars of Mr Caselborg's lease of the old Waipoua Brewery property. The lease bad been granted for 21 years, from August, 1877, at a rental of £6, and subsequently £l2 per annum, a building of the value of £10(M) be erected and left in good repair at the expiration of the lease. On the motion of Mr Feist the matter was left over till next meeting, to enabtathe committee appointed to meet MrCaselberg as arranged, THE DRILL HALL. 0. A. Pownall on behalf of Mr J. O'Meara, wrote stating that should Trustees permit tho playing of brass instruments in the Drill Hall, action would bo taken against the Trustees. The Clerk said he had cautioned Mr Lea against permitting tho playing of brass instruments. On the motion of Mr Daniell the letter was laid on the table, and the Clerk was icstructed to obtain a copy of the injunction against tho Hall, THE ORAXDSTAXD, The Secretary of the Park Trust wrote asking that the balance of the grant (£SO) be paid at the end of May. The Chairman said everything appewed satisfactory, and ho would movqAat the amount be paid on the condmous being complied with. Seconded by Mr Daniell and carried,
SUB-LEASING. C. Hughes wrote asking permission to sub-let premises in Queen Street to Mr A. Stempa. The application was granted, Mr Hngbes still to remain the responsible tenant. % REPAIRS. An account from J. Russell for repairing work £l2s was passed for payment. The report of Messrs Feist, and Daniell recommending repairs to Mr Hatch's cottage and Mr Braggins' cottage was read and adopted. Mr Daniell said the repairs would cost from £25 to £3O. Resolved that Mr Bond be instructed to call tenders foi the work. ANNUAL MBETiXG. Resolved that the annual meeting of voters take place on Thursday, May 16tb, at 7 p.m.,' the Chairman and Secretary to prepare the annual ropotfand balance-sheet. TECHNICAL SCHOOLS. Mr Daniell asked permission to defer Mb notice of motion n technical schools, until next meeting, The meeting then went into Committee, to deal with the Black List,
