THE IMPERIAL BUDGET.

Received May 3,8.30 p.m. % Losdos, May 2. *.. Tho Budget was delivered in tho Houso of Commons to-day by Sir W. V. Harcourt, Chancellor of the Exchequer. In his speech on tho occasion, Sir William Harcourt said tho revenue last year amounted to £94,684,000, leaving a surplus of £776,ooo,whicb would be applied to tho reduction of the National Debt.

The estimated revenue for neit year was £95,662,000, and the expenditure £95,981,000. The anticipated deficit would be met by the ro-imposition of tho expiring beer duty, with the result that there would then be a surplus of £IBI,OOO. Received May 4, 1,15 a.m. LoxuoN,May3.
