[BY DAMOCLES.] The first match of any interest this season was played on the Park Oval yesterday, between teams repre: senting the Oriental and White Star Clubs. A large number of spectators werp on the ground, tho unfinished grand-stand coming in for a largo share of patronage, Soon after tho commencement A. Tho Stars, however went to . work with a will, and for the reff mainder of the game, forced the™ Orientals on the defensive, and the better form of the younger team told its tale, the yellows being continually in danger.
