* —- From Our Qim Correspondent. Monday, Tho Taratabi-Cariertou ltoad Board has struck a general rate of three farthings in tho £ on the rateable value of the property in their district. The Wapmpit South County Council has struck a poor rate of one-tenth of a penny in the £ on the raicable yalue of all propci ty \yilhin tho County. lhe rateable value of property within tho County is £1,838,031. The Board has appointed a deputation to wait on the Government and seek aid in repairing flood damages in the Gladstone district.
Tho Ooupty Council lias passed the following resolution, ''That tho Government bo asked to circulate amongst Local Bodies, before Parliament meets any measure theycontomplato bringing forward next session, altering the boundaries of counties." A copy of the resolution is to be sent to every County Council, with a view to thoir supporting it.
