j Mastkhtox, Monday. ' Messrs It. I*l Horublow <fc Co., I auctioneers and produce uiercliants, j report as follows for week ending Saturday, April 27th : We have nothing special to report this week. Our general sales in Carterton and Masterton have been well attended, and satisfactory business done. All kinds of produce are in excess of requirements, and the I outlook for better pi ices are any[tiling but reassuring, only choice lines are taken up by purchasers,, especially in oats and chaff. After so much wet weather and the tloods,we fully expected the potato market to harden, but up to the present last week's quotations hold good. Large quantities of grass seeds are offering |at lower rates. Onions are only in fair demand. Eggs are gradually going up in price, but the butter market is weak. Poultry shows an improvement, the same may be said of pie;B. The demand for horseflesh is fairly good and our horse sale on Saturday, was on the whole satisfactory, there being a large number of buyers present; with the exception of two entries all lines were i quitted. The following are our | wholesale quotations : Butterodperlbjeggsls 2d per dozen Poultry—Fowls Is Od to 2s 3d; geese 4s; ducks 2s Od; turkeys, 4s 9d per pair. Produce-Oats Is 7d to Is lid per bushel i oaten sheaf 2s to 2s (id per bag. Potatoes—sss to 03s per ton; onions H per lb. Horses—Hacks 30s to £7 ; light harness £5 5s to £0 ; draughts £8 to £l4. Traps (second hand) £7 to £11'; waggonette. £9 10s; carts £0 to £B. Various sets of harness ranged front 25s to 555,
