SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
A somewhat serious accident happened on the Masterton-Qladstone road last evening. Thveo mourn the employ of Mr Daniell wero driving Ijpme in a spring cart, when, having to "pass' several waggons r»oing in the same direction, the track being narrow, the trap drove off on to the grass, and in avoiding a stump, the wheel came in contact with a small log with the result that 'all three wero thrown out. Mr J. fait had Mb ankle-bone broken, while Jfr N. Winstanley had the sinews of his leg severely strained and. is now laid up in bed,' Both sufferers are being attended to by Dr Butomeut. Mr W. Robins, the other occupant of the vehicle, got off with a shaking. A broken shaft and splash, tai'd was all the damage to the cart,
