Among the passengers who arrived from Sydney, by the Manapoui'i, was Mr H, Simon, who enmes to New Zealand as representative of Mr John Pattio, veterinary surgeon, Sydney, to investigate the mortality amongst sheep, A similar class of diseases appeared in New South Wales, and the method of treatment devised by Mr Pnttie, proved remarkably successful. Mr Simon will visit Hawki's Eay and the Wellington district, but it is doubtful whether he will be aLle to go to the South Island,
