From Our Own Correspondent, Monday, The new courthouse is finished and looks very ornamental, it being a great improvement to the town. Tbe furnishings have not yet arrived and to-day's sitting will be held in the Oddfellows' Hall.

I had occasion recently to inform you that the local suppliers to the dairy factory had resolved to secede from N.Z. Farmers' Dairy Union. On suppliers taking their milk to the creamery this morning they found by a notice that in consequence of their resolution, the Directors had decided not to make any advauco on the past seven weeks milk and that the Chairman of Directors would address them at a meeting f to-morrow eyening, when I think lings will be a bit lively. There is a very strong feeling over a right-of-way which was promised by tho Premier when he selected the site for the courthouse. The right-of-way was to have been from Fox to Fitzherbert street, right through by the Police Station to the courthouse, which stands just behind it, now the Minister of Justice refuses to grant the right-of-way after Mr Seddon promising it,

A special meeting of the Town Board was held on Saturday night, and it was resolved to call tenders for 1300 yards of metal for the streets.
