The largest flood ever known for 20 years has washed away many bridges, the Fori and Saunders lioad bridges among them, It is said the road is like many others, completely blocked. Traffic is also suspended between Ekctahuna aud Alfredton and there will be no mail for a week. The Puketoi Settlers Progressive Club turned out and cleared tho fori Koid for bridle traffic, but it is expected that no vehicles will get through this winter, and the settlers expect Governmont assistance as primitive pioneering is reitored.
