FEATHERSTON NEWS.
From OurOicn Correspondent. Thursday. Great interest is beiug taken in the forthcoming piano fund ball. A meeting of the decorating committee was held last evening, aim it was rcsolred to start decorating on Wednesday morning. So far there arc no nominations for seats on the new School Committee, but I hear that there is likely to be a good muster at the annual meeting, as there are some who want a new Committee entirely. I hear that Mr W.Burt's loss through the recent flood oyer, at Whitimauuka, is about £SOO, his jetties, cut timber, and many other things being swept away.
