Lieut. Edwards believes that Gnrdon was not killed and that Chitralis still safe. He fears, however, that Captain Baird is dead.
Umra has informed General Low that he will not answer for the Jannol tribes, though he is negotiating with them for their submission, Umra himself threatens to take flight unless favourable terms arc granted. It is expected tho seige of Okitral will be raised before the British troops arrive,
