TERRIBLE ACCIDENT.
AN HEROIC AOTION. (Received April 13,11,20 p.m.) Melbourne, April 13. A terrible accident occurred in the air chamber on a section of the Hobson's Bay Main Sewage Works last night, Six men wore working in the chamber, when suddenly the water burst in. Watson, the engineer was about to enter the chamber, when a man named Burke who was inside pushedhimback andshut tho door in hisface,and looking through the glass in tho door Watson saw the water rising, Burke' 3 action was that of a hero. Apparently he sawth6re was no chance for himself or the others in the chamber, and he closed tho door in order to save the lives of those in the tunnel, The names of those drowned are Buchanan, Civil Engineer; Burke, boss of the shift; Johnston, Gabriel, Jackson and Foster.
Nono of the bodies hare yet been recovered.
