FINANCE COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the Finance Committee was held this morning. Present— Crs. Boctham, Guild, Groves, Smith, Von Bedon, and Stuckey. In the absence of the Chairman, Cr Beetliam was appointed to preside. The Treasurer reported a Dr. Balance of £2lOl Ms 7d on General Fund Account, and acvedittolj.B.L, Account of £1826 Is, net debit £275 13s 7d. Bates collected and other amounts received since 14th March, amounted to £IGOO 2s 2d. '
The accounts and pay sheet amounting to £1725 0s lid wei'o considered and recommended for payment. A letter was received from Mr T. R. Fleming claiming damages (£li) for an accident which occurred at the approach to the Tinui river ford.
On the motion of Cr von Beden seconded by Cr Stuckey, the letter was referred to the Engineer to report.
